The Double Gs on the Four Cs

by Bob Gottlieb, COO

© 2003 Gottlieb Brothers, Inc.

We pride ourselves on quality stones. Of the four "Cs”—cut, color, carat and clarity—we believe that “cut” is the most significant to the stone's value.

By cut, we refer to the proportions, symmetry and polish of the diamond, factors that determine the fire and brilliance a diamond displays. A diamond with even the highest rating for color and clarity will not be beautiful if the stone is cut poorly.

Personalized Diamond Evaluation CertificateCut, above all other criteria, gives a diamond the “wow” that is immediately apparent even to the naked, untrained eye.

This Diamond Evaluation Certificate , personalized for your store, rates precisely how well this diamond is cut. Eight different criteria are analyzed. To help you understand what these numbers signify, each is referenced to the GIA standards.

Each aspect is also rated "ideal," "excellent," "very good" or "good." A diamond with "ideal" and "excellent" ratings would be considered one of high brilliance and fire. A diamond rated "ideal" in all aspects—a rarity—would be of the highest possible sparkle and scintillation.

This stone is hereby certified, so that you can rely on its quality and superior value.
